Patrick Mahomes has established himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL over the last few years. He led the Kansas City Chiefs to a Super Bowl title. Now, he is spending his offseason with his wife Brittany Mahomes and his kids. In a surprising turn of events, the Chiefs QB celebrated Easter Sunday with his family in rival colors. This comes amid his comparison with his arch-nemesis Joe Burrow.
A former Cincinnati Bengals player billed Burrow as better than Mahomes recently. Is the two-time Super Bowl champion giving a subtle reply with his outfit?
Patrick Mahomes and family don orange for Easter
The adorable photo had his whole family with him. Brittany Mahomes and both the kids completed the picture. But there is another aspect that the fans are discussing. It is the Chiefs QB, along with the whole family, donning orange. That is the color of his arch nemesis Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
Last season, Mahomes picked up a perfect time to shine against Burrow in the AFC championship game. But for a former Bengals QB, Burrow is still better than the NFL and Super Bowl MVP.
The Mahomes-Burrow comparison
Joe Burrow came into the NFL in 2020, a good three years after Patrick Mahomes. By the time Burrow made his debut, the Chiefs QB had already lifted the Vince Lombardi trophy. Still, Burrow gave him nightmares and established himself as Mahomes’ primary rival. According to former Bengals QB Carson Palmer, he is a better QB than the two-time Super Bowl champion.
“I know Patrick (Mahomes) is phenomenal, but I just think Joe’s more consistent. He’s more consistent. He’s more accountable to run the system,” Palmer said on ‘The QB Room’ podcast.
Burrow dominated Mahomes at the start of his career, becoming the first QB to defeat him in three straight encounters. He beat Mahomes en route to the Super Bowl appearance last year. But the Chiefs QB bounced back and downed Burrow in the AFC championship game in January. The comparison may come as a shocker for the fans. Do you think the same? Do tell us in the comments section.
