Today we dive and get to know American author, motivational speaker, actress, and Christian evangelist, Priscilla Shirer.
Early Life.
Priscilla was born on December 31, 1974, the daughter of Tony Evans (Senior Pastor Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas) and Lois Irene Evans (died 2019). She has 3 siblings Chrystal, gospel artist Anthony Jr., and Jonathan. Shirer graduated from Duncanville High School and Dallas Theological Seminary, earning a master’s degree from the latter in Biblical Studies.
Being a daughter of a pastor, Priscilla grew up well acquainted with the Bible. As a freshman at the University of Houston, she interned with a Christian radio station. Soon listeners were calling the station, inviting Priscilla to speak at their Bible study groups and other events. Soon she was invited to lead a weekly Bible study at the Zig Ziglar Corporation and then to join its speaker team.
Family.
Priscilla was married in 1999 to Jerry Shirer, and they have been blessed with three sons Jerry Jr. Shirer, Jude Shirer, and Jackson Shirer. The parents of three young boys, the Shirers who started Going Beyond Ministries (a speakers’ bureau of Bible teachers) share ministry and family responsibilities. While Priscilla continues to minister full-time, Jerry manages his schedule and other business aspects of Going Beyond Ministries.
