Following reports of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s upcoming US tour, Kate and William will take the time to meet the Sussexes, says royal expert. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will create “another cycle of war” if they fail to meet Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during their tour of the US, an expert has claimed.
In a bid to increase their popularity overseas, in addition to promoting Prince William’s Earthshot Prize Awards, the Cambridges are reportedly set to embark on a US tour. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex having settled down in Montecito in America after stepping down as working members of the Royal Family last year. John McDermott, producer of the Palace Intrigue podcast, has said that he believes the couples will arrange a meeting.
“Granted the US is a big country, but if William and Kate don’t visit Harry and family, it becomes a big deal,” he exclusively told OK!.In a similar way to how the two brothers put on a dignified front and were seen chatting as they left the funeral of their grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, the pair may use their time in the US to challenge rumours of an ongoing rift.
“William and Kate are very smart at the art of all this.“Philip’s funeral shows a path to success: give the paparazzi their photo op of the brothers together, and then go off in private and have whatever discussions you want,” he said.
The Queen is now undertaking light duties following an overnight hospital stay.
“If they don’t meet, then the narrative is another cycle of the war within the family, and this is exactly what the Queen doesn’t need,” John added.

“So, I think they will head to California, say hi, let their picture be taken, and continue moving forward.”This follows reports that Meghan and Harry were left feeling anxious that Kate and William’s tour would threaten their attempts to establish their own career in the States.
“They don’t want the Cambridges coming onto their turf and stealing their thunder,” a source told New Idea.“William is the future king and he’ll easily win friends and influence people in America a lot easier than Harry and Meghan have done so far.”
After the Queen’s health scare, Kate and William signalled their future position as leading members of the monarchy, appearing at the COP26 summit while Her Majesty continued to rest.
