There is no doubt that the Las Vegas Raiders and Kanas City Chiefs are one of the biggest rivalries in all of the NFL.
Along with the Raiders and Chiefs rivalry, two players on both sides have started a rivalry against each other and those two players are Raiders Maxx Crosby and Chiefs Patrick Mahomes.
This Week 16 matchup will be the tenth matchup Crosby and Mahomes will go head-to-head against each other.
Crosby has 19 solo tackles, 12 assists, and 5.0 sacks in 9 games against the Chiefs in his career, while Mahomes has a passer rating of 113.5 with 3,338 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions in 11 games against the Raiders in his career.
Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy had the chance to speak to the media this week on the rivalry that has formed between Crosby and Mahomes.
“It’s been fun to be a part of the last couple years. I can remember Maxx when he was coming out of college and just seeing who he was and how he played then, a little smaller at the time and now he’s put on some weight and strength and confidence and played greats.
So, I think you see two competitors that are at the top of the league at their positions and their side of the ball.
There’s definitely a mutual respect between the two but when you get between those lines on gameday, none of it’s ever personal, but I think its cool to be on the sideline and see the fire they have, but then also be on the field after the game to see the mutual respect that they have for one.
