“Love You Mom”: Recently Married, Simone Biles Pens Down a Heartfelt Note for Her 72-Year-Old Mother

The name Simone Biles is ubiquitous in the sporting world today, so much so that many refer to her as the GOAT of gymnastics. To be this GOAT took her years of hard work in the making, and it did not start off for her on the best of terms. As a child, Simone Biles was put up for adoption and went in and out of foster care. It wasn’t until her grandmother Nellie Biles, and her husband Ronnie Biles, adopted her as their legal child, Biles had a permanent home. On this Mother’s Day, she thanks her mother, Nellie Biles for all she has done for her.

Simone Biles, in association with the brand Athleta, put out a Mother’s Day post yesterday to show appreciation for her mother Nellie Biles. The new bride owes much of her success to her support and encouragement.

Simone Biles recently took to her Instagram and wrote, “Happy Mother’s Day! @athleta has been celebrating moms all week and I can’t let Mother’s Day pass without showing some love for my amazing mama!” She also attached a vibrant picture of her and her mother, both in white dresses, smiling toward the camera.

Biles continued, “It can be so hard for moms to prioritize their own well-being, but when they do, it’s inspiring for women and girls everywhere”, sharing the universal love and respect for mothers all around. She continued, “Growing up, my mom did so much to support me and my dreams—she’s the reason why I know it’s important to take care of myself. Love you Mom!!”

Biles, who struck success at a very early age and that too in the grandest of fashions, might not have been able to do it if not for Nellie Biles and her husband Ronnie Biles providing her with the necessary requirements to pursue a career in athletics.

Simone Biles, one of four siblings with others being Adria, Ashley, and Tevin, were all put in foster care when their mother Shanon Biles couldn’t take care of them. After Ronnie and Nellie Biles adopted Simone Biles and gave her the life she had, she went on to win 4 gold medals at the Rio Olympics, followed by a silver and bronze in Tokyo Olympics 2020. Her legal parents, Ronnie Biles, and Nellie Biles, had also made it abundantly clear to Simone Biles’s biological mother Shanon Biles, that she won’t be allowed to see her daughter anymore.
