NFL star named best quarterback – and it’s not Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes is the reigning NFL and Super Bowl MVP – but Cincinnati Bengals legend Carson Palmer believes Joe Burrow is the best quarterback in the league. Burrow and Mahomes have become symbols of the developing heated rivalry between the Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs, with the two competing against one another in successive AFC title games.

Burrow was the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and show shown his might since his promising rookie season was cut short by a torn ACL. He led the Bengals to Super Bowl LVI against the Los Angles Rams in his first fully-fit season and he followed that up with an AFC Championship appearance.

After winning at Arrowhead Stadium to go to the Super Bowl a years ago, Burrow and the Bengals came up short as the Chiefs secured a 23-20 win. Mahomes would go on to win the Super Bowl, emerging triumphant against Jalen Hurts’ Philadelphia Eagles.

Despite falling to Mahomes and having significantly less accolades than the Chiefs quarterback, Palmer believes Burrow is the better player. Palmer was selected first overall in the 2003 NFL Draft by the Bengals and played for the AFC North franchise for eight seasons.
