Olympia Made Serena Williams Cry After Her Tennis Loss: “It’s Okay Mama, Do What Your Heart Tells You”

Serena Williams, one of the most celebrated athletes of all time and widely recognized as a role model of the younger generation, sadly walked away from tennis last year in 2022.

After announcing her retirement, Williams played in the US Open which was one of the few key moments for her daughter Olympia Ohanian as she got a chance at cheering for her mother.

Williams was recently invited as a guest at The Drew Barrymore Show. Here, she opened up about personal details surrounding her married life and also shared how her daughter Olympia made her cry following her advice on Serena’s Cincinnati Masters loss.

Revealing details about her daughter’s advice, the former world No. 1 highlighted how Olympia’s sweetest advice assisted her in settling her emotions after the loss she suffered at the Western and Southern Open.

Serena faced an early defeat at Cincinnati. She was comforted by her daughter. Serena said, “Apparently she was saying like, ‘Go, Momma, I’m so proud of you, and I was like, ‘What?’ So then she comes back after I had lost in Cincinnati, she came back and she’s like, ‘It’s OK, Momma, you just have to do what you feel.’

“I literally wanted to cry it was like, ‘Do what you feel. Do what your heart tells you.’ It was the sweetest thing ever and I was so proud of her,” she added.
