Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his personal passing coach, Jeff Christensen, seemingly gave all their secrets away to San Francisco 49ers QB Trey Lance over the weekend.
Lance, 22, has little to show for in three season since joining the NFL, largely due to battling multiple injuries.
After just one workout with Mahomes, however, Lance is visibly throwing a lot better.
In a video that went viral due to his improved mechanics, Lance can be seen releasing the ball with his arm fully extended, something he failed to do in the past.
Christensen, 63, worked with Jimmy Garoppolo in high school, turning him from a pitcher into a quarterback, who has earned over $120 million in his NFL career.
Patrick Mahomes teaching Trey Lance?
Lance, who is much more skilled than Garoppolo ever was, is now working with Christensen ahead of the upcoming season.
He will have to beat out Brock Purdy and Sam Darnold for QB1. Working out with the reigning Super Bowl champion will likely give Lance the edge.
Mahomes, 27, has improved his throwing mechanics over the past few seasons and is now seemingly teaching Lance what he learned.
Lance will likely continue to work out with Christensen through the offseason. This time, he threw to Chiefs wide receivers, so he’ll need to link up with his own offensive weapons.
