PRINCE HARRY and Prince William started a conversation over text message, while a royal source claimed their relationship hit “rock bottom”, according to unearthed reports. Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship appears to still be under intense strain, as a royal source claimed last week that the Duke of Cambridge didn’t want to attend a memorial for his mother Diana with his brother last year.
The brothers put on a united front in July as they unveiled a statue of their mother, Princess Diana, in the garden of Kensington Palace. But a friend of William’s told the Sunday Times this week: “William was still furious. He had taken the view that he’d only give so much. He just didn’t want to go there [with Harry].” An aide added that Kate, Duchess of Cambridge was “amazing” when Harry returned to the UK – working hard behind the scenes to ensure that the event went off smoothly.
Harry and William were very close when they were young, but there has been tension ever since William reportedly advised his brother to take things slow in his relationship with Meghan Markle. Their rift widened after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit the Firm in 2020. In March last year, following Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, The Sun reported that the brothers began talking over text again.
However, their texts may have been tense as their relationship was still far from mended.

“He is so angry with him that it’s totally unthinkable at the moment for them to be happily reunited and stood together at the unveiling of the Princess Diana statue. It’ll take a lot of work to patch things up so they can put on a united front.”
Another source spoke about the statue unveiling, saying William and Harry will be able to put their differences aside for the occasion.They said: “William will not tell Harry he is not welcome. This is their mother. They commissioned the statue together for their mother so it would be unfair to say that he doesn’t want Harry to be there, because he does.
“It is a leap to think they will only talk about the statue. They will have brotherly conversations. They should be given time to speak.”
