Princess Eugenie’s first Christmas as a mum set to be bittersweet.PRINCESS EUGENIE may have mixed feelings about fast-approaching festive celebrations, as she prepares for her first Christmas Day with her new baby.

 

 

However, this Christmas will also be the first she has to spend without an important member of those festivities. Her grandfather, Prince Philip, passed away in April 2021, aged 99, and never got to spend a Christmas with his great-grandson, August.

 

 

August was born in February, welcomed by Princess Eugenie, 31, and her husband, Jack Brooks bank.The Queen’s granddaughter, who was close to the Duke of Edinburgh, posted a tear-jerking tribute to the late prince following his death.

She wrote: “Dearest Grandpa, we all miss you. “You would be so touched by all the tributes that have been shared with me the past few days.

 

 

“People remember sitting next to you at a dinner, or shaking your hand once, who remember you saying hello in passing, or remember how much their DofE award meant to them.

“I remember learning how to cook, how to paint, what to read.“I remember laughing at your jokes and asking about your spectacular life and service in the navy.“I remember incinerating the sausages and you swooping in to save the day.

“I remember your hands and your laugh and your favourite beer.

“I will remember you in your children, your grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

“Thank you for your dedication and love for us all and especially Granny, who we will look after for you.

She also marked the occasion on June 10, on what would have been the Duke’s 100th birthday, with a message on social media. Princess Eugenie also uses her online presents to share adorable snapshots of the three-person family that August has slotted into.

She celebrated her first Mother’s Day in March, uploading a photo where baby August lies on a blanket among blooming daffodils. Just prior to this, she posted a series of images of herself, Jack, and a newborn August to “introduce” the world to the newest addition to her family.
